On Saturday, I'll be signing books at the Bookie's and 7-Eleven Parking Lot Party in Chicago's Beverly neighborhood, down on the South Side. Join me from 5-8 p.m. in the Bookies and 7-Eleven parking lot, 2419 W. 103rd St. The Wrecker Brothers Band will be playing. Honest Abe Lincoln and Corduroy the Bear will also be there. And they're giving away free Slurpees to boot. You won't want to miss this one. Really, you won't.

My mini-radio tour has taken me across the country. The beauty of a radio tour is that you never have to leave the comfort of your home. CHEESELAND: a "definite must read"!
Earlier today, I read a quote about book reviews. The author, whose name unfortunately I don't recall, said that she doesn't pay attention to them because if you believe the good ones, then you have to believe the bad ones, too. The author has a valid point, but I don't believe she ignores all reviews of her books. Heck, many of them, at least the flattering ones, are hard to avoid. They're all over the book and on the Amazon sales page. How can you possibly ignore them all? And the sad thing is, she'd be missing out on the good feeling you get when you do read a positive review, like this one, the first full-fledged review of CHEESELAND, by Fran Lewis, who calls it a "definite must read," a book that should be read by all parents and educators. I don't know Fran Lewis, but she made me smile today. That's a smile I would not want to have missed out on.
